Last night, Oxford City Council became the lastest to pass a motion to condemn the government’s hostile environment agenda, and calling for an end to immigration detention.
Oxford becomes the tenth council to pass such a motion, following Manchester, Liverpool, Cambridge, Brighton and Hove, Islington, Lambeth, Bristol, Lewisham and Haringey.
The motion was proposed by Labour councillor Hosnieh Djafari-Marbini, and seconded by Councillors from the Liberal Democrat and Green Groups.
